The Almacenes Paris chain, as part of the implementation of its new shopping centre in Copiapò, Chile, has devoted great attention to lighting design, commissioning the study to lighting designers Letelier and Leonard. The "flat" lighting method used in large stores is thus giving way to accent lighting that designs the spaces but above all focuses attention on display areas, especially on vertical surfaces.
The lighting designer pair has made use of the darker areas to hide the tracks and projectors - which are black - that are used for the lighting. Based on the height of the areas, they decided to install the various tracks suspended or in the ceiling, working with the various output of the projectors and the different optics to obtain the desired uniformity or contrast. The result is that of a "boutique", where every object on display acquires a special identity, from the fabric of the knits to the design of the shoes and even the chrome on a bicycle.
