In the heart of the Florence Oltrarno area - the coolest district in the world according to the major international tourist guides - and only 50 metres from the Ponte Vecchio, BSJ_Borgo San Jacopo Room is a perfect blend of history and contemporaneity, art and architecture, knowledge and digital technology. A unique place of hospitality and welcome offering all the comforts to nourish both body and mind.
Situated within a historic 14th century building on the corner of the medieval street Via Toscanella, B SJ_15 has been totally renovated inside without losing any of its peculiar historical elements and creating an original place of hospitality with shared spaces and rooms allowing for total and utter privacy. The resort occupies the first 2 floors of the building. Through the large entrance halls with terracotta floors overlooked by a wooden ceiling finely decorated with geometric and floral motifs, you may access the concierge where, through the windows, you can catch a glimpse of the small internal courtyard decorated with plants.
A stone staircase leads to the second floor where the lobby opens to the bedrooms: four suites with bright windows overlooking Borgo San Iacopo and the other charming rooms located around the internal courtyard along Via Toscanella. The balcony-terrace overlooking the small courtyard is adorned with climbing jasmine and fragrant essences are placed on the windowsills. At dusk the lights illuminate the climbers which create a magical atmosphere resulting from the dialogue between modernity and medievalism.
Indoor walls are painted in elegant hues of grey, the floors covered with oak parquet, the mouldings of the skirting fade in the white casements of the doors, while the cornices above round off the walls and disguise the warm tones LED profiles of the
LIGHT LINE Collection that can be dimmed to create personalised atmosphere and chiaroscuros effects on the white ceilings. An elegant style combining both classic and conceptual art.
The oak wood furniture made by the skilled hands of local craftsmen flow into invisible straight lines to become functional elements such as desks, dressers and coat-racks. The gold leaf wardrobes in the two largest suites offer a design clearly in homage to the radical Florentine culture of the 1960s and 1970s. The other furniture is a mix of the most exquisite Made in Italy and icons of the international design.
