The new image of the Melo Grano store chain begins in Florence, not far from the Duomo. This low-cost brand has 70 outlets sparse throughout the world. The long and narrow dimensions posed a difficult challenge for the designer, Pino Brugellis, who nevertheless succeeded in creating an original exhibiting and shopping environment.
Two main decorating elements characterise the project: a sinuous wave that appears to develop endlessly and a black backdrop showing two apple trees in a wheat field.
The beautiful bright red wave marks the length of the space, acting as a visible fastener for the display shelves that open sideways: simple niches illuminated from above and divided into regular squares that hold the various clothes. The lighting comes from Targetti’s QUADRO recessed lights in the smallest version for LED sources: discreet, minimal and compact, they adapt to any space where accent lighting is required with excellent colour yield and low consumption.
The impact of the store is also strong from the outside. Without a doubt, the mains attractions are the extreme clarity of the new spatial articulation – well visible from the street – and the sharp colours emphasised by a carefully designed lighting project. This led to the creation of the store’s new identity, which is capable of gaining the public's attention with its simple and eccentric character brought to life by the eloquent contrast of black and red with the white floor and shelves. The Targetti lights instantly allow revealing the space created by Brugellis. The light fixtures used also included ARGON adjustable recessed projectors, which can hide from view illuminating with precision and high performances any type of setting.
